Anemone Coronaria – Blue Sapphire Ring

A dark, gathered heart, and around it petals that never quite agree on length. That is how the poppy anemone opens, flat to the light, and it is how Eve has built the ring.

Blue sapphires of 5.41 carats hold the centre, oval and pear alongside a single round, each position carrying a stone of its own size and its own height, so the surface rises and falls and the colour pools deepest at the middle.

Around them, chalcedony cut to a bespoke profile — cool, translucent, softly blue. It holds light where the sapphires hold colour, and gives the saturation at the heart a luminous edge to open against, exactly as pale outer petals do.

Natural pearls rest through the arrangement, round and opaque, with small brilliant diamonds bezelled into the intervals between stones, drawing the composition close.

The table measures 24 by 23 millimetres, a shade wider than it is deep. That slight difference keeps the freely grown character of the flower.

In 14-karat white gold.

Description & Details

Anemone coronaria does not produce even petals. The sapphires here run from 3 to 9mm across three different cuts, and the ring is better for the inequality.
