The folding fan appears twice in each earring. At the ear, a small one caught part-open, its pleats modelled in white gold and its upper edge set with stones. Below, hanging from a single haloed gem, the large fan is spread to its full width — and built as a skeleton.
These earrings are made entirely of links. Every haloed ruby, every open ring, every bezelled diamond and connecting bar hangs from the one above it on a jointed pivot, and three strands fall from a horizontal diamond bar, each swinging free of the other two along its full sixty millimetres.
