Ice Queen Earrings

Three sections, each hinged to the one above, so the earring articulates along its full length and every part moves on its own as it falls.

The sapphire pavé is graded across each surface. Pale, almost colourless blue runs alongside mid-blue and near-navy on the same plane, the deepest stones gathered where the metal folds and the palest where it lies flat. The colour behaves as ice does: thickness sets the depth of tone, and thin edges run to white.

Two hexagonal blue topaz anchor the piece, one at the top section and a larger one at the base, both step-cut with long flat facets. At the middle, a single oval sapphire carries the deepest blue in the earring — one dark point in a surface otherwise graded to white.

The outlines break into spurs and hooks, each section ending in points that carry past the silhouette. Pearls sit at intervals across all three, round and opaque against the faceted stone.

Worn, the pair falls from the ear to below the jaw and moves in three places.

This pair has been sold to a private collector.
